In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our agency; and in the sky The larks, still courageously singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. This morning I would like to extend to a toast to memorialisation Day, and all the soldiers who fought for our countries freedom. On celestial latitude 8, 1915 a poem was dedicated to the soldiers who wooly their lives, was published entitled, In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae. The lives of over 100,000 men and women would be meaningless if we did not remember. They died for their families, homes, friends, tradition, a future, us... Canada.
