Gloucester introduced Edmund to Kent as his “whoreson” (I.i.24) or bastard child. King Lear and hence enters with his three daughters and the two firstborn’s husbands. Lear asks his daughters to discover him which of them loves him most. Both G unityril and Regan flatter him but his youngest and advance daughter, Cordelia, is honest and tells Lear “Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave / My bladder fucus into my m turn outh.
